Scandinavian Design

Do you want a neat design yet elegant? Consider Scandinavian, a design movement characterized by simplicity, minimalism, and functionality which flourished in the 1950s, in the five Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. It has prioritized function and affordability over preciousness and luxury. Marked by pale colors, natural materials, and lean, leggy furniture.

Mid-Century Modern

Mid-century modern is a throwback to the design style of the mid-1900s—primarily the 1950s and 60s. Functionality or “fussy-free” was the main theme for Mid-century design. Its emphasis on pared-down forms, natural or organic shapes such as “egg-shaped” chair, easy-to-use contemporary designs and simple fabrications. It is characterized by refined lines, minimalist silhouettes, and natural shapes.

Industrial

This is a look that hearkens back to the turn-of-the-century industrial era. It emphasizes the liberal use of exposed steel with distressed wooden elements, frequently complemented by exposed brick walls. The modern variant commonly includes copper-tone accents. In terms of general feel, the industrial decor is often rustic and mature.

Contemporary Design

The word “contemporary” means “of the moment,” which makes this style particularly hard to define. It is constantly evolving, never gets stuck and outdated. What is “of the moment” today may not be tomorrow. Today, the look is defined by curved lines, neutral colors, and minimalism, but it may look slightly different in the future.

Modern Minimalist

The term minimalism is also used to describe a trend in design and architecture, wherein the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. It has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture. The works of De Stijl artists are a major reference. If you are tired of the chaos in the city and you want to pay yourself with a peaceful evening after work, the minimalist design is best for you.
